This combo treatment includes a sugar scrub for full exfoliation which provide better tan results. Warm, aromatic towels are used to cleanse off the sugar scrub. Then a custom full body spray bronze is applied. This is the most effective way to keep a long lasting airbrush tan. A sun-kissed beauty, without the sun's harmful UVA rays.
How Airbrush Tanning Works:
Our Tahitian Tan Mist
solution works in a 2-step process. Step 1 provides an instant
bronzing effect due to the bronzing agents that is in our formula.
Step 2 uses DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) to naturally react with your skin
to produce a rich golden tan within 24 hours.
Before you Tan:
Your skin should
be clean, dry and exfoliated (exfoliate and shave the night before
if possible). Do not apply any make-ups, deodorants, perfumes,
moisturizers, etc. for this will inhibit the absorption of the
tanning solution. We have baby wipes available for any last minute
wash ups. Most clients will want to tan topless. Some will go
completely nude or wear a bikini or thong bottom. Darker colors (not
white) are recommended; although the Sunless Tanning Solution will
wash out, this is recommended on the side of caution.
We offer disposable thongs for those who prefer to not go completely nude. Pin up any hair off of ears and neck. The DHA will not react to anything but skin, so your hair will not tan, nor will the eyebrows. Hair caps are available should you choose, but they only leave unwanted hard tan line on the forehead, neck or ears if they slip. Hair clips are the best practice to pin up hair.
Q. How long will the tanning appointment
take?
A. From 10-15 minutes. There is no rubbing involved with applying
the spray tan.
Q. How long does the tan last?
A. Clients report that the tan typically lasts 3 to 10 days. This
varies according to skin type and life style. (swimming, sweating,
etc. will decrease the length of the tan) The tan will fade like a
natural tan.
Q. Am I going to have bronze color when I
finish my tanning appointment?
A. Yes. You will have the instant satisfaction of a visible bronze
color.
Q. Who will perform the service/spray
tan?
A. We have two professionals, a male and a female, on staff that
will perform the spray tan. When you make your appointment, indicate
to the Salon Consultant of your preference.
Q. Can I wear make-up during my tanning
appointment and shortly thereafter?
A. No. I recommend waiting 8 hours before washing your face and
taking a shower. Your face will have a deep golden glow! You will
not need any make-up, however, you may use lipstick. You may wear
full make-up after your first shower if you desire.
Q. Will my skin look orange?
A. Absolutely Not!
Q. How safe is spray tanning?
A. Very safe! The formula contains only essential, natural, safe
ingredients. It is alcohol-free and fragrance free. It is also
hypoallergenic. The FDA approved Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) penetrates
only the top layer of the skin. It does not absorb into the body or
bloodstream.
Q. Will the spray tanning affect my hair?
A. The DHA will not react to anything but skin, so your hair will
not tan, nor will the eyebrows.
Q. Do I need to exfoliate before my
tanning appointment?
A. Yes. You can exfoliate twice, a day before and the same day of
your appointment.
Q. What kind of the exfoliator should I
use?
A. Use any of our exfoliating products the day before your airbrush
appointment to remove any old skin so that your skin may fully
absorb the Tahitian Mist Solution.
Q. What kind of shower gel should I use
to care for my tan?
A. Use any of our shower gels and aloe based moisturizing products
during and after your first shower.
Q. Can I shave or wax my legs before
tanning?
A. Yes. I recommend doing so since you will skip shaving for your
first shower after the airbrush session.
Q. Can I use moisturizer or deodorant
before tanning?
A. No. But, you need to moisturize your airbrush tan (after the
first shower) every day, twice a day if you have dry skin.
Q. What should I wear during my tanning
appointment?
A. Most clients will want to tan topless and will wear a bikini or
thong bottom. Some go completely nude . Others prefer to wear an old
swimming suit or dark colored undergarments. After tanning, you
should wear loose fitting dark clothing (no jeans), and loose flip
flops.
Q. Will the spray tan stain my clothes,
bed sheets, and/or my car seat?
A. You should wear long, dark pants or skirts (until your first
shower) to protect any surface (in case of sweating) that you may
come in contact with. (i.e. car seats, bed sheets, sofas, etc.)
However, the tan will dry quickly and is water-based, so it rarely
transfers to clothing or bed sheets. If any color does get
transferred, it can be easily washed and will not stain.
Q. Does the spray tan dry fast?
A. Yes. You will blow dry your body until the solution is dry (about
3 to 5 minutes).
Q. Can I work out right after tanning?
A. No. Absolutely Not! After a minimum of 8 hours, take a shower and
then you can resume your regular activities.
Q. Does sunless spray tan contain sun
screen?
A. No.
Your tan will not fully develop for 24 hours. Sunless spray tan is great for people with Rosacea who want to hide pink and red splotches.
